Understanding the Link between Video and Audio

When a clip contains both video and audio material, it’s known as a linked clip. To perform the tasks described in this chapter, you need to understand how linked clips behave in the timeline.

When you move a linked clip in the timeline, the video and audio portions of the clip move together. Similarly, when you change a linked clip’s edit marks, the video and audio tracks both change—unless you deliberately treat them separately. The link helps you keep the video and audio synchronized.
