Chapter 5. Editing Clips into a Sequence > Using the Monitor Window’s Time Rule...

Using the Monitor Window’s Time Ruler

Each view of the Monitor window includes a time ruler, consisting of tick marks and timecode numbers. The time ruler not only measures time but also provides another way to navigate through a clip or sequence (Figure 5.16). The full width of the ruler represents the entire length of the clip in the Clip view or the entire length of a sequence in the Timeline view. The frame displayed in the view corresponds to a blue triangular marker in the ruler called the current time indicator (CTI). Each time ruler also displays icons for its corresponding view’s markers and In and Out points. You can move the current time, markers, and In and Out points by dragging the appropriate icon in the time ruler.
