Chapter 5. Editing Clips into a Sequence > Setting In and Out Points

Setting In and Out Points

Setting In points and Out points is central to all editing. An In point is where you want the clip to start playing, and an Out point is where you want the clip to stop playing. The length of time between the In and Out points is called the duration.

When you edit, you start by setting the In and Out points for the clips to add them to the sequence in the timeline. The sections in this chapter focus on this part of the editing process.
