Chapter 7. Adding Transitions > Using the Effects Palette

Using the Effects Palette

The Effects palette lists and organizes all effects, including audio and video transitions.

By default, the Effects palette contains five folders: Presets, Audio Effects, Audio Transitions, Video Effects, and Video Transitions. You can’t rename these folders or remove items from them. However, you can add and name custom folders, which can contain copies of your favorite items or effect presets you save (see Chapter 10). You can expand a folder to reveal its contents, but you can’t open a folder the way you can in the Media window. The Video Transitions folder includes 10 subfolders; the Audio Transitions folder contains 1 subfolder. Video transitions appear as icons; audio transitions appear as icons.
