Understanding Opacity and Volume Graphs

As explained in “Choosing a Keyframing Method” earlier in this chapter, keyframing in the timeline, or rubberbanding, is ideally suited to controlling opacity and volume.

Rubberbanding opacity

You can keyframe the opacity of clips in video track 2 and higher to blend them with clips in lower tracks. Lowering the opacity of clips in track 1 blends the image with black.
