Interpolation Types

You can apply the following interpolation methods to calculate both spatial and temporal interpolation. But for the sake of clarity, the following figures illustrate them spatially. (Later, you’ll learn about methods unique to temporal interpolation: hold interpolation and the Ease In and Ease Out options.)

Linear interpolation dictates a constant rate of change from one keyframe to the next. Spatially, linear interpolation defines a straight path from one keyframe to the next (Figure 10.95); temporally, linear interpolation results in a constant speed between keyframes.
