Chapter 16. Fast and Easy Lighting > Creating the Motion Background

Creating the Motion Background

You'll use the footage that you imported from the book's DVD to lay the foundation for your spot's background:

1.
At time 0:00, create a comp-size white (RGB: 255, 255, 255) solid named Background, with Pixel Aspect Ratio set to Square Pixels.

2.
Place the Alvarez&Cruz.mov file in the Timeline starting at time 0:00, above the Background layer.

3.
To fit the footage to the composition's size, set the Alvarez&Cruz layer's Scale to 50, 50%.

4.
To make the footage fade in to the scene, add a 0% Opacity keyframe at time 1:00; then, go to time 2:00 and change the Opacity to 100%.

5.
To make the footage fade out of the scene, add a 100% Opacity keyframe at time 5:00 and a 0% Opacity keyframe at time 7:00.

The A&C Master composition at time 1:00
