Chapter Eight. Preproduction > Preparing to Shoot

Preparing to Shoot

Now that you've developed a schedule, set a budget, booked your equipment, and hired your cast and crew, it's time to shift your attention from business to creative affairs, and start shooting. But here are some things you need to do first.

Plan Test Shots

Chapter 4 encourages you to take your camcorder out of the box and do some test shots before production day. As you finish your preproduction planning, you should have a much better idea of what technical challenges you'll face on the set. Try to simulate these potential problems in your tests so you'll know how to deal with them under the pressure of production.
