Understanding Time Remapping

Back in Chapter 6, “Layer Editing,” you learned how to change the speed of a layer using the Time Stretch command (or by changing the layer's Stretch value in the In/Out panel in the Timeline window). Although it's useful, the Time Stretch command is limited to changing the layer's overall playback speed. To make the playback speed up, slow down, reverse, or come to a halt (or freeze frame), you need to use time remapping.
