Chapter 11. Effects in Action > Using Texturize

Using Texturize

The Texturize effect uses the pixels from one layer to give another layer a textured or embossed appearance. The luminance values of the effect source determine the relative intensity of the texture; you can modify the overall effect using the effect's property controls. Like all compound effects, Texturize utilizes the effect source directly, before layer modifications (masks, effects, and transform properties) are applied. If you need to adjust the texture layer, do so in a separate comp and then nest the comp for use as the effect source. (For a more detailed explanation of compound effects, see Chapter 10.)
