Shake is a collection of image manipulation engines, such as compositing, color correction, or warping engines. Each engine can be driven by a series of different commands called (interchangeably) nodes or processes. Each node usually has a series of parameters (or values) that can be adjusted. These nodes are connected to images and arranged in what is called a process tree because, well, it kind of looks like a tree.
