Lesson 8. Film Compositing > What You've Learned

What You've Learned

  • Proxies are lower resolution images that you substitute for your high-resolution images so you can work faster.

  • The proxyRatio parameter allows the proxies to be of a different aspect ratio from the original source images.

  • Kodak Cineon is a 10-bit logarithmic file format that uses an efficient color compression scheme based on the idea that the human eye is more sensitive to low- and mid-tones than to highlights.

  • The LogLin function converts logarithmic images to linear images and vice versa.

  • Always convert your logarithmic files into linear space with the LogLin command before adding further operations.
