Lesson 14. Working with Adobe Encore DVD > Using the ripple edit tool

Using the ripple edit tool

1.
In Premiere Pro, make sure that the Timeline is active.

2.
In the Timeline, move the Current Time Marker to 00;00;20;19 (right before the scene of the tombstones).

This is where you want this clip to end. You will edit out the tombstones.

3.
In the Tools palette, select the ripple edit tool () and place the cursor just to the left of the right edge of Clip05 in the Timeline. When the cursor changes to a red bracket with a double arrow (), click and drag to the left. Drag the outpoint of the clip to the current time marker.

A ripple edit trims a clip and shifts subsequent clips in the track by the amount you trim.

4.
In the Tools palette, select the selection tool.

5.
Place the cursor over the right edge of the Audio track and trim the clip until it is even with the Video track.

6.
Save the project.
