Lesson 3. Transitions > Adding a transition using the Effects palette

Adding a transition using the Effects palette

1.
The position of the edit line in the Timeline is at the end of Gaze2.avi (at 00;00;18;11).

2.
In the Effects palette, expand the Video Transitions folder and scroll down and open the Zoom subfolder.

3.
Click the Cross Zoom icon to select it.

To find a transition quickly, click the Video Transitions folder in the Effects palette. In the Contains area, type in the name of the transition. Premiere will locate the transition and highlight it.

4.
Drag the Cross Zoom transition icon to the Video 1 track at the edit line in the Timeline window, where Gaze2.avi ends and the trimmed Approach2.avi begins.

5.
Preview the Cross Zoom transition in your project.

Note

The final movie uses all Cross Dissolve transitions. Later you can replace the transitions with the Cross Dissolve transition if you want to match the 03Final.wmv movie. Experiment on your own to obtain the look and feel that's right for you.

6.
Save the project.
