Lesson 3. Transitions > Transitions used as special effects

Transitions used as special effects

Experiment with the transitions thus far. To achieve the look of the Lesson 3 Final movie, simply use Cross Dissolve for all of the transitions. In this exercise, you'll finesse a transition and add a new one to create nuances that serve as special effects.

Modifying a transition in a sequence

Adjustments are made to transitions in the Effect Controls window. The first Cross Dissolve lets the audience know that Hero is daydreaming about ways to meet the girl of his dreams. To indicate to the audience that the next scene also takes place in his mind, you'll extend the Cross dissolve, so that it lingers in Clip A as it dissolves into Clip B.
