Getting started

For this lesson, you'll create a new project and then import additional clips. Make sure you know the location of the files used in this lesson. Insert the Adobe Premiere Pro Classroom in a Book DVD-ROM disk if necessary. For help, see “Copying the Classroom in a Book files” on page 4 of this book.

1.
Launch the Premiere Pro software.

When you start Premiere, the Welcome to Adobe Premiere Pro window appears.

Click New Project.

Click on Browse and locate the directory called C:\PrPro_CIB\Lessons\02Lesson and click OK.

In the Name field, type 02Lesson and click OK.

Before importing files, you should close the palettes that you don't need right now. Click the close box in the upper right corner of the Effects palette, the Info palette, and the History palette.

Create a new bin by either clicking the Bin icon () at the bottom of the project window or clicking the menu triangle button at the top right corner of the Project window and choosing New Bin.

In the Project window, click on the Bin 01 folder icon.

Choose File > Import.

9.
Navigate to the 02Lesson folder and click OK.

Select Opening.avi, Okay.avi, and Notmuch.avi while holding down the Control key.

Click Open.
