Lesson 5. Motion Paths > Creating animation in Premiere Pro

Creating animation in Premiere Pro

An animation is different from a video, in that the motion is generated synthetically, not by shooting live action. With animation you create movement over time, giving the visual effect of motion. You can import animation clips into Premiere Pro from other software programs such as Adobe After Effects. There are also a number of ways to create animations right in Adobe Premiere Pro.

You can move, rotate, scale, and transform a still image or video clip in Premiere. But note that you can add motion only to the entire clip; you cannot animate individual elements within the clip. Yet with the use of keyframes, opacity, and other image manipulations, you can achieve some movement over time.
