  • Before importing the clip into the project, change the number of frames for the Video Transition Default Duration in the Preferences General dialog box.

  • Choose Clip > Speed/Duration and then enter a new duration after the clip is imported into the project.

  • Position the selection tool pointer on the edge of the clip and drag to a new location in the Timeline.
