Lesson 9. Superimposing > Exporting the movie

Exporting the movie

Now we'll export the project to a QuickTime movie for playback from a CD-ROM. When exporting video for playback from CD-ROM, keep the file size as small as possible, and limit the data rate to 300 or 500K/sec so that it plays back at the highest quality possible from a variety of systems.

1.
Make sure the Timeline is active, and then choose File > Export Timeline > Movie.

2.
In the Export Movie dialog box, click the Settings button. Make sure QuickTime is selected for the File Type and Entire Project is selected for the Range.

3.
Also make sure that Export Video and Open When Finished are selected. Then deselect Export Audio. The default values for other settings, including those for compression, are fine for this project.

4.
Click OK to close the Export Movie Settings dialog box.

5.
Type Promo.mov for the filename, and then click Save.

A status bar displays the progress, and when Premiere is finished creating the movie, it opens in its own window.

6.
Click the Play button () to view your movie.
