Pasting into a gap

You can rearrange existing clips in the Timeline by cutting and pasting. If you simply paste a clip, Premiere inserts it at a selected area in the Timeline by either trimming the clip's Out point to allow it to fit into a gap between two other clips or placing the entire clip. If you want another result, you can control exactly what happens to the clips at the edit point when you paste. This kind of control is most useful when you are pasting a clip of one duration into a selected space of a different duration.
