Monitoring Peak Levels

By default, the Audio tool (and its miniature version in the Timeline) displays your output levels: the levels of the sound that will eventually go out to recording devices such as decks or cameras via FireWire or the Mojo box.

The most important output-level problem to watch out for in the Audio tool is audio peaking: extremely high audio levels that may result in perceivable audio distortion.
