Applying EQ Effects to Audio

What really makes EQ adjustments in the Audio EQ tool easy to understand is the graph at the bottom of the window. From left to right, it displays a spectrum of audio frequencies. When you make EQ slider adjustments, you can graphically see where the level dips below the 0-dB reference line and where it rises above it (Figure 12.46).

Figure 12.46. You can see from the graph that the base frequencies are below 0 dB and the treble frequencies are above 0 dB. The middle frequencies remain at a normal level, at 0 dB.
