Chapter 12. Working with Audio > About Xpress Pro's Audio Effects

About Xpress Pro's Audio Effects

There are two types of audio effects—each with a different icon—that you can apply to your audio in the Xpress Pro Timeline:

  • EQ effect: Adjusting a segment's equalization, or EQ, with the EQ tool raises or lowers certain frequencies within your audio. For example, if you think the bass guitar in a piece of music is too overwhelming, you can use the EQ tool to lower the frequencies between, say, 20 and 120 Hz.

  • AudioSuite plug-ins: Several plug-in effects are available in the AudioSuite window. Typically, they can eliminate unwanted sounds from your audio or create special effects such as reverberation or pitch shifts.
