Chapter 12. Working with Audio > Adjusting Audio Levels

Adjusting Audio Levels

Xpress Pro provides you with two tools—the Audio Mix tool and the Automation Gain tool—to adjust levels on source audio tracks and Timeline audio tracks.

  • Audio Mix tool: Use this tool to make overall level adjustments to one or more audio segments. To enable the tool, you must select Audio Clip Gain in the Timeline Fast menu.

  • Automation Gain tool: Use this tool to create detailed, keyframed level adjustments (also called rubber bands—graphical Timeline representations of audio levels that you can drag up and down). You can also use this tool to make record-level adjustments in real time. To enable the tool, you must select Auto Clip Gain in the Timeline Fast menu.
