Loading Source Clips

Loading your source footage means opening it in one of the following monitors:

  • An independent source monitor: This is a single, floating window. You can have multiple source monitors open at once (Figure 6.4).

  • The source side of the Composer monitor in Source/Record mode: To enter Source/Record mode, either resize your Composer into a rectangle or choose Toolset > Source/Record Editing (Figure 6.5).

  • The clipboard monitor: You use this monitor to load sections of your currently open sequence or sections of another sequence, which you can then edit into the current Timeline. (For information see “Using the Clipboard Monitor” later in this chapter.)
