Performing Single- and Double-Roller Trims

After you enter Trim mode, you set up a particular trim by selecting one or more edit points for trimming, using either a single roller or double rollers. The simplest trims involve a single or double roller on one track, but you can load many rollers on many tracks before you actually perform a trim operation.

The only rule you must remember before actually performing your trim is that you cannot perform double-roller and single-roller trims simultaneously. Any single trim must employ either all double-roller trims or all single-roller trims (Figure 7.10).
