The Designer's Role

Interactive menus are vital to the concept of DVD as a content-delivery medium. As a visual designer, your creative input and menu concepts play a critical role in the DVD experience, both aesthetically and by building a navigation environment that is intuitive and effortless. Filmmakers and videographers do what they do to produce a movie or documentary, but it's the job of the menu designer/DVD author to wrap it up in an attractive package for all to see, admire, and use.

The great part for a designer is that there are so many possible creative directions you can take. Menus can range from the simplest still graphic to the most elaborate full-motion video imaginable.
