Phase 4: DVD Authoring and Multiplexing

DVD authoring is the process of assembling all of the finished content elements (edited movies, audio, and menus) into a form that makes all content easily accessible. You do this by using a DVD authoring application such as DVD Studio Pro or Adobe Encore DVD.

After you assemble all the elements together in your authoring application, the project content exists as encoded files of elementary streams, a general name for the encoded Dolby Digital audio files and the MPEG-2 video files. Before these files can be put onto a DVD disc and played in a DVD player, they must be multiplexed.
