Merge (multiplex)

After everything is properly arranged and you've tested as much as possible, it's time to compile your assets into a single unit. This merging of assets is known as multiplexing, or muxing for short (catchy, isn't it?). The end result is a set of DVD-ready files precisely structured to be recognized by any DVD player. These new files are ready to burn onto a blank DVD or DLT tape drive. Multiplexed files contain combined video and audio streams, as well as instructions that tell the DVD player how to play the disc.
