Interlaced and Progressive Scan Video

One important difference between television and computer monitors lies in how they display frames of video. Television monitors display interlaced video, whereas computer monitors use a progressive scan.

In a progressive scan, the horizontal lines of each frame are displayed from the top of the screen to the bottom in a single pass.
