Chapter 2. Starting a Project > Selecting Settings

Selecting Settings

You specify project settings in the Project Settings dialog box (Macintosh) or New Project Settings dialog box (Windows). (For the sake of brevity, I’ll just refer to this as the Project Settings dialog box.) You can set Premiere to open this dialog box when you launch the program, or you can access it from the Load Project Settings dialog box.

At the top of the Project Settings dialog box is a pull-down menu that allows you to view the five categories of settings: General, Video, Audio, Keyframe and Rendering, and Capture. When starting a new project, you’re only concerned with the first four categories; you can leave the Capture settings for Chapter 16.
