Chapter 17. Premiere Online > Creating a Batch List Manually

Creating a Batch List Manually

If you prefer to manage your batch list yourself, you can create a batch list manually. Unlike the Project Trimmer method, this method does not trim or rename your clips, so differentiating them from the original clips is more difficult. To prevent confusion, you may want to delete the original source files (if the timecode is good, you have nothing to fear). If you prefer to keep the original files around, make sure that you keep the recaptured files in a separate, easy-to-identify folder.

To create a batch list from a project or bin:

1.
Remove unused clips, as explained in “Purging Unused Clips” earlier in this chapter.

This step prevents you from recapturing clips that aren’t necessary in your program.

2.
Choose File > Capture > Batch Capture to create a new batch list (Figure 17.10).

Figure 17.10. Choose File > Capture > Batch Capture to create a new batch list.

3.
In a Project or Bin window, select the clips to add to the batch list.

4.
Drag the selected clips into the Batch Capture window.

The clips appear in the batch list. The durations of the clips reflect the duration of the entire clip, not the duration between in and out points (Figure 17.11).

Figure 17.11. Drag clips from the Project window to the batch list; then save the batch list.

5.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 for other clips.

6.
With the Batch Capture window active, choose File > Save.

7.
In the Save dialog box, specify a file name and destination for the batch list.
