Chapter 10. Mixing Audio > Using Stereo Audio Clips

Using Stereo Audio Clips

Unlike some audio editing programs, Premiere places stereo clips in a single audio track in the timeline. Nevertheless, several commands allow you to manipulate each channel of a stereo track separately. Using these commands, you can duplicate, mute, and swap the left and right stereo channels of an audio clip.

Duplicating one channel of a stereo clip copies it to the other channel. Making both channels the same effectively creates a monophonic clip and makes a pan control appear. This can be useful for clips that have information on a single channel.
