Working with the Project Window

When you open a project, Premiere assembles an array of windows, according to the initial workspace you specified (or how it looked when you last saved the project). In the top-left corner of your workspace, you’ll find the Project window. As its name suggests, the Project window is fundamental; although you can close other windows, closing the Project window closes the project.

The Project window is the receptacle of all the clips you intend to use in the program. Accordingly, it’s vital that the clips in the Project window be organized, easy to find, and easy to evaluate. Premiere’s Project window helps you do just that (Figure 3.1).
