Cueing to Edit Marks

You can quickly cue the current frame of a Monitor window view to any edit mark.

To go to edit marks in the source view:

1.
Load a source clip into the source view or a clip window.

2.
In the source view or clip window, click the marker button.

The Marker menu appears.

3.
Choose Go To, then choose an option (Figure 4.45):

Next— cues to the marker after the current frame.

Previous— cues to the marker before the current frame.

In— cues to the clip’s in point.

Out— cues to the clip’s out point.

Video In— cues to the video in point when split edit marks are set.

Video Out— cues to the video in point when split edit marks are set.

Audio In— cues to the audio in point when split edit marks are set.

Audio Out— cues to the audio in point when split edit marks are set.

0–9— cues to a numbered marker.

Marks that are in use appear with a bullet (•) next to them.

When you cue to an edit mark, the corresponding icon appears above the image in the Monitor window (Figure 4.46).

To clear edit marks:

1.
Load a source clip into the source view or a clip window.

2.
In the source view or clip window, click the marker button.

The Marker menu appears.

3.
Choose Clear, then choose an option (Figure 4.47):

Current Marker— removes the marker at the current frame, if any.

All Markers— removes all markers from the clip.

In and Out— resets both the in and out points to the beginning and end of the clip, respectively.

In— resets the clip’s in point to the beginning of the clip.

Out— resets the clip’s out point to the end of the clip.

Video In and Out— resets the clip’s video in and out points to the beginning and end of the clip, respectively.

Video In— clears the video in point when split edit marks are set.

Video Out— clears the video in point when split edit marks are set.

Audio In and Out— resets the clip’s audio in and out points to the beginning and end of the clip, respectively.

Audio In— clears the audio in point when split edit marks are set.

Audio Out— clears the audio in point when split edit marks are set.

0–9— cues to a numbered marker.

To clear in and out points by clicking:

  • Do one of the following:

    • To delete the in point, -click (Mac) or -click (Windows) the mark in button.

    • To delete the out point, -click (Mac) or -click (Windows) the mark out button.

    Clearing the in point resets its position to the first frame of the entire clip; clearing the out point resets its position to the last frame of the entire clip.

Tip

  • To delete both the in point and the out point, press .
