Using Title Templates

The Title Designer comes with an extensive list of preset templates—ready-made designs with generic text that you can replace with your own. Templates are organized into various categories, such as Wedding, New Baby, Medical, and Real Estate. Many templates contain photographic images that pertain to the topic at hand. There’s also a long list of “lower third,” “upper third,” and “over the shoulder” titles, common designs in broadcast video. In addition, you’ll find numerous informational lists, perfect for business presentations on video.

To load a title template:

1.
In the Title Designer window, click the Templates button (Figure 12.8).

The Templates dialog box appears.

In the Templates dialog box, select the title template you would like to use.

If necessary, click the triangle next to a folder or subfolder to reveal the templates it contains. A preview of the selected template appears in the Templates dialog box (Figure 12.9).

Click Apply.

The title template is loaded into the Title Designer window (Figure 12.10). Modify the text or other objects (using methods described later in the chapter) and save the title.
