Creating Path Text

Rather than following a ramrod-straight baseline, path text follows a curved path that you create.

To create path text:

1.
In the Title Designer window, select either of the following tools (Figure 12.34):

Horizontal path text — creates text horizontally aligned to the path

Vertical path text — creates text vertically aligned to the path

2.
Create a Bezier curve in the drawing area (Figure 12.35).

The mouse becomes the pen tool. To learn more about creating Bezier curves, see “Using the Pen Tools” later in this chapter.

3.
After you’ve finished creating the curve, choose the selection tool.

The Bezier curve’s bounding box appears.

4.
Double-click inside the curve’s bounding box.

A blinking insertion point appears at the beginning of the curve (Figure 12.36).

5.
Type the text you want.

Each character’s baseline is tangent to the curve (Figure 12.37).
