Video Effects and Image Size

Some effects—such as Pointillize, Crystallize, and Image Pan—use settings expressed in pixels. The pixel settings of these filters remain constant, even if you change the size of the video image. Therefore, the apparent effects of these filters change according to the image size of the output (Figures 11.33 and 11.34). Such “size-relative” effects can mislead you if you preview them at a different image size than the final output or if you use smaller source clips as proxies for larger clips. To get a more accurate representation of the effect, preview it at your output size.
