Setting Up for Capture

If you are new to Final Cut Pro, take a moment to read Chapters 4 and 5, which contain details on Browser and Viewer operation, before you start a capture process. You'll need to use both of these windows in the capture operation. Capturing video is probably the first thing you're going to want to do, but a little general knowledge of the FCP interface will make your first captures go more smoothly.

You may also need to review Chapter 2, “Welcome to Final Cut Pro,” for details on preference and preset settings.
