Trimming Edits in the Viewer

You can perform four types of trim operations in the Viewer: Ripple, Roll, Slip, and Resize. Remember that you can perform trim operations only on sequence clips, so all of these trim operations require you to open the sequence clip in the Viewer by double-clicking it in the Timeline.

To perform a Ripple edit in the Viewer:

1.
From the Tool palette, choose the Ripple tool.

2.
In the Timeline, double-click the clip to open it in the Viewer.

3.
In the Viewer's Scrubber bar, drag the In or Out point to ripple the clip (Figure 8.47).
