Using Third-Party After Effects Filters

Final Cut Pro is compatible with many of Adobe After Effects' third-party image filter plug-ins. Standard plug-ins that come with After Effects, however, are not compatible with Final Cut Pro. Once you've installed them, After Effects–compatible plug-ins will appear in the Video Filters section of the Effects menu and can be used just like any other Final Cut Pro filter (Figure 13.142).
