Chapter 6. Editing > Finishing Up

Finishing Up

After only a few hours of working on the computer, your project should be winding down. You've created some different versions, you've experimented with cutting techniques, you've output the sequence to a master tape for storage, and now you're in the final few moments before you shut down and get back to hanging out with friends and family.

Digital output: CD-ROMs and DVDs

Most editing software provides a direct method to “export” your finished sequence as a compressed video file. The available file formats may vary but will likely include either QuickTime or Windows Media or RealVideo. QuickTime is generally regarded as the dominant compressed media format today.
