Chapter 11. Standard Effects in Action

Chapter 11. Standard Effects in Action

This book cannot hope to describe in detail each effect and how to apply it—much less the infinite iterations and combinations of these effects. Nor would it be useful to do so. Instead, this chapter describes briefly each effect category and then provides step-by-step instructions for using some prime examples of each. Notable exceptions include the fairly straightforward Image Control category, the highly specialized Cineon Converter, and the standard Keying effects. (The far superior Production Bundle versions are described in detail in Chapter 16.) For additional guidance, turn to After Effects' online documentation, and to your own experiments.

As you'll see, even the Standard effects cover a vast range. Although the following chapter can't provide ready-made recipes, it can encourage you to devise your own innovative applications for effects as well as inspire inventive combinations.
