Chapter 16. Production Bundle Techniques

Chapter 16. Production Bundle Techniques

As you know, After Effects comes in a standard version and in a Production Bundle version, which looks and works exactly like its less expensive sibling but includes a range of advanced features and effects geared toward professional users. These features include a set of superior keying effects, which you can use to make convincing composites; more sophisticated tools for controlling motion and automating keyframe creation; and a variety of other advanced audio and visual effects. New to After Effects 5 are a handful impressive effects, including a dynamic version of Photoshop's Inner/Outer key, Optics Compensation, Fractal Noise, and the most notable of the bunch, Vector Paint. If you use After Effects professionally, you won't hesitate to invest in the Production Bundle and its advanced tool set.

Although this chapter doesn't attempt to cover every Production Bundle feature, it does provide an overview of the package's important keying, effects, and motion controls—highlighting some prime examples along the way.
