Chapter 9. Mask Essentials > Setting Custom Mask Colors

Setting Custom Mask Colors

To help distinguish multiple masks from one another, you can assign each a unique color.

To assign a mask color:

1.
In the Timeline window, select the layer containing the mask you want to color code.

2.
Press M to reveal the masks contained by the layer.

The masks and the Mask Shape property appear in the expanded layer outline. If the layer doesn't contain any masks, the outline does not expand.

3.
Next to the mask name, click the color swatch (Figure 9.47).

Figure 9.47. Click the color swatch next to the mask's name.

A color picker appears (Figure 9.48).

Figure 9.48. In the color picker, select a color for the mask path.

4.
In the color picker, select a color for the mask, then click OK.

When selected, the mask uses the color you chose.
