Shy Layers

Because the Timeline window contains so much information, you'll frequently find yourself scrolling through it or expanding it. Some users even use a secondary monitor just to accommodate a large Timeline window. If you hate to scroll but are reluctant to buy another monitor, you may want to take advantage of the Shy Layers feature.

Marking layers you're not currently using as shy enables you to quickly conceal them in the Timeline window. This way, you can concentrate on just the layers you're using and conserve precious screen space. Although shy layers may be hidden in the Timeline window, they always appear in the Composition window and layer numbering remains unchanged.
