Chapter 13. Keyframe Interpolation > Default Spatial Interpolation

Default Spatial Interpolation

Ordinarily, keyframes of a motion-path keyframes use auto Bézier interpolation. If most of your spatial animation requires linear interpolation (or if you simply prefer it as your initial setting), you can change the default in the Preferences dialog box.

To set the default spatial interpolation:

1.
Choose Edit > Preferences > General (Figure 13.31).

Figure 13.31. Choose Edit > Preferences > General.

The General panel of the Preferences dialog box appears.

2.
In the General Preferences dialog box, do either of the following (Figure 13.32):

  • Check Default Spatial Interpolation to Linear to make new motion paths use linear interpolation.

  • Uncheck Default Spatial Interpolation to Linear to make new motion paths use auto Bézier interpolation.

Figure 13.32. In the General panel of the Preferences dialog box, choose whether to use linear interpolation as the default.

3.
Click OK to close the Preferences dialog box.
