Looping

Often, you need footage to loop continuously. Rather than add a footage item to a composition multiple times, you can set the footage item to loop using the Interpret Footage dialog box.

To loop footage:

1.
In the Project window, select a footage item you want to loop.

2.
Choose File > Interpret Footage > Main, or press Cmd-F (Mac) or Ctrl-F (Windows).

The Interpret Footage dialog box appears (Figure 2.87).

Figure 2.87. The Interpret Footage dialog box contains controls that allow you to loop a footage item (without repeating it in the composition).

3.
In the Looping section of the Interpret Footage dialog box, enter the number of times you want the footage to loop (Figure 2.88).

You may only enter integers for complete cycles, not decimals for partial cycles. When you add the footage item to a composition as a layer, its duration reflects the Loop setting.
