Chapter 9. Video and MPEG Tracks > About the Compression Settings Dialog Box

About the Compression Settings Dialog Box

When you work with video tracks in QuickTime Player, you may come across an important dialog box: Compression Settings (Figure 9.1). Most commonly, you’ll see it when you export your movie (see Chapter 15), but you can also access it when you create a video track by importing certain still-image or animation files, as described later in this chapter in “Creating a Video Track from a Single Still Image” and “Creating Video Tracks from Non-QuickTime Animation and Video Files.”

Figure 9.1. In QuickTime Player and other QuickTime applications, the Compression Settings dialog box allows you to choose compression settings for video tracks.
