Randomly Accessing Points in a Movie

As you can in QuickTime Player, when you view movies that appear with the standard controller, you can move to any point in a movie quickly—without having to play the movie or step through it frame by frame.

As a movie plays, an oval indicator moves in the area to the right of the Play/Pause button. That area comprises a slider, which, just like the Time slider in QuickTime Player, represents the entire length of the movie. The oval indicator marks your current location in the movie (Figure 5.4).
